Crazy storms in northern NSW. The BOM issued warnings…and then cancelled them:
“TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST
CANCELLATION SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
Issued at 8:54 pm Wednesday, 16 November 2011.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in NSW and the ACT. The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.”
Could it have something to do with the radar oddity we have been seeing, on and off, for weeks?
Beams have been showing up in Qld again, with a large cirle covering almost half of the east coast, onto the border. The national Bureau Of Meteorology was offline for a duration, as was Weatherzone, however, the Weatherchannel managed to pick it up, unaltered. Subsequent radar images from the BOM site did not show this anomaly.
